The Scout Hall was originally built as a Methodist Chapel on land purchased by High Littleton villagers in 1868. It was known as the ‘Primitive’ until 1933 when it became ‘Lansdown Place’. It became the ‘High Littleton Methodist Church’ in 1955 and functioned as such until worship ceased on 28 August 2016. The car park and an extension containing toilets and a kitchen were added in 1965.
The High Littleton Scout Group has held its meetings on the premises since 2002 and on 16 November 2021 finally purchased the premises and became Managing Trustees.
There is a page about the history of the building when it was used as a church on the My Primitive Methodists website
